Thanks for all the track day advice! I think we are going to be going to a track day at Brands indy sometime in December. Apparently Llandow is closed to bikes over the winter and won't be allowing any testing until early next year, but mallory park for around £50? Can't go wrong there! Ill inform Dad and hopefully we will be able to fit a fair amount of sessions in before march. Griff It would be brilliant too see you again sometime soon, are you going to the NEC bike show this year? Is Mallory close to your house? It would be mint if you could come to some on the meetings or practise sessions.

Llandow is tiny, and totally flat with a ripply straight. More of a go-cart track I'd say, but I've only done it once and my total track experience is next to nothing (Cadwell twice, Llandow once). Be interesting to read how you get on and what you make of it though.

What sort of sponsorship deals are you after? I'm part of the AllYearBiker franchise, personally I think we could get some good exposure from sponsoring a racer. It's not up to me ultimately, but I'd be happy to recommend you to the 'big boss'.

I tested the R6 back during the middle of last month at Mallory and I absouloutly loved it! It was alot to take in and I learnt alot about the bike. We adjusted the preload and rebound settings on the front fork's and adjusted a little on the rear shock which really helped me negotiate the slite 'bump' around gerrard's which was pushing me wide until we made the adjustments.

Apart from Mallory we have taken part in no other testing but we are going to Cartegena in less then 2 weeks to get a bit of dry weather testing in, I think Griff and one of my Dad's freinds who has some mechanicing knowledge is coming with us so all is looking good for the 3 day test. I'll be sure to let you know how everything goes!

Anyway I Hope you all had a good x-mas and have a succesful new year!

Nick

Just a quick update as im at work and computer keeps crashin every time I try and upload pictures...

The test in Cartegena just under 2 weeks ago went brilliantly! The track was unreal, you can't compare it to anything of that in the UK it was superb! It was dead technical, super grippy (but harsh on tyres) and was mega quick in most places! During our time out there we munched our way through 3 sets of tyres but we could of easily gone through more! but as a set are £250+ each then we thort we would try and be more economically viable!

Griff was absoululty superb! From the moment I met up with him we started talking bikes and about the 3 days ahead of us! He gave so much more structure then what im used to as he set out the 3 days with detail insuring that we came away with good data! He was constantly taking notes and making adjustments so I could learn about different aspects about my new machinery! He also breifed me before I headed out on circuit and when I got off the circuit he would debreif me, which added a certain level of profesionlism to the whole experiance. We also worked on bike setup adjusting things like handle bar and clutch lever angles which really made a difference! I learnt so much of Griff in the 3 days and I would like to sincerly thank him for his efforts! Your a star man !

The bike was brilliant, allthough we were out there for 3 days I was still learning about different aspects with the bike! Such as power delivery! I also noticed with my K tech internals and WP rear shock I was able to get so much more feel which I never had back when I was using Maxton on my superteen bike.

I managed to get down to a 1.43.28 which I was pleased with! I continued to get quicker allthough we were focusing on setups! Im absouloutly certain that I could go quicker but as my Dad said this is all very new to me and I don't want to run before I can walk!

Overall the experiance was brilliant! and allthough I didn't pay for it I think I can say that it was well worth it! We went with Hottrax who were brilliant! It's £499 per person (that included 3 nights stay in a hotel, bike transport over to the track, 3 days on track) which seeming in the summer in England to ride Brands Indy for the day it costs in excess of £130 it was well worth it especially when the weather was at a constant 17-19 degrees in a supposive chilly murcia winter it was superb! The track aswel is amazing would recomend it to anyone! Not one person out there even complained which was nice! The gravel traps are also deep which helps stop an inexperianced 600 rider like myself I took a trip through the gravel traps on a couple of occasions but managed to keep it up so all good! :)

Finally I would again like to say a massive thank you to Griff! You are a ledgend and taught me so much! Also thanks to Dad and Jay for support finacially and physcologically (or however you spell it) Thanks to you all and a wiked time was enjoyed by all :)

Thanks for reading!

Over and out!

Sounds like you had a great time out there, being positive and enjoying yourself is a good winning formula.
